For an artist who spends the majority of his time running one of the south-west’s most successful galleries, Rob Malcolm still manages to create stunning art in the form of unique hardwood furniture. His work is in strong demand - a Chinese client commissioned four large pieces for shipment to Asia earlier this year, and items from tables to wine cabinets and beds grace domestic and commercial settings all over the world.
Rob has temporarily emerged from his role as Curator to concentrate exclusively on his creative pursuits. The launch of Yallingup Galleries’ series of summer exhibitions features an inspiring collection of Rob’s paintings, as well as furniture, silk screens and photographs. The latter draw on inspiration from Rob’s local habitat as well as trips to Arnhem Land and the islands of Indonesia to create an eclectic mix of beautiful, mesmerising art.
The new works of this high profile artist will be launched at Yallingup Galleries’ Garden Art Studio on Marrinup Drive from 6pm on December 27. The exhibition will be open for viewing from 10am – 5pm daily until January 6. 2010 please contact us for an invitation to the opening
